April 25, 2009 is World Malaria Day. It is a day to make the world care. It is a time for countries affected by the disease to learn from each other and support each others’ efforts. It is an opportunity for countries free from malaria to learn about its impact on the health of those affected.

The theme : “Counting Malaria Day Out.”   The Roll Back Malaria  (RBM) partnership  will jump start a two year campaign to evaluate the progress in achieving the goals.

We will be sharing information about malaria at this blog at part of my efforts to join in.

I decided to start this blog for my health website: www.superhealthe.com

I am a registered nurse. At university I was a strong supporter of health promotion and disease prevention.  I believe prevention is better than cure.

Recently we celebrated World Health Day.  The theme was ‘Protecting Health from Climate Change.’ High carbon footprints are bad for health and the environment.

I am wondering  what is important to consumers in matters related to health.  How important is prevention in promoting health?

  • How many of us believe that health should be a global issue.
  • How many believe it is a health system.
  • How many believe it is a community issue

I look forward to hearing from you.
