More than 130,000 employees from a corporate wellness program were involved in the study to compare health risks of business travellers.
The researchers found that those who do extensive business travel have an increased risk for obesity, high cholesterol and high blood pressure.
According to the study they were 92% percent more likely to be obese and more likely to have high cholesterol and blood pressure than light travellers.
Researchers found that those who travelled extensively were also 260 percent more likely than light travellers to view their health as fair or poor.
Extensive travellers are those who were on the road more than 20 nights per month, light travellers were on the road 1-6 nights per month.
